Hi, I'm Gavin Clifton, The Disabled Writer!
I write books for kids that celebrate & embrace differences, disability, acceptance, friendship, kindness, courage, & being unapologetically yourself.
I know what it's like to feel different, but I also know that it's not only okay to accept yourself but to be accepting of others. My stories are about showing kids that it's okay to stand out, always be you, ask questions, & embrace who they are (quirks, challenges, warts, and all).
Every child deserves to see themselves in a book. That's why I create funny, brave, and wonderfully imperfect characters, just like the rest of us. Whether they're navigating big emotions, making friends, or learning to see the world through someone else's eyes, my characters (and stories) always remind readers to be open, kind and inclusive, which makes society better for everyone.
