We are recruiting a Technician at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Full Term/Fixed Term until 31-03-2025
Location: Blackwood Miners Institute

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Theatre and Arts Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £24,294 - £25,979 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Blackwood Miners’ Institute is looking to employ a Technician. As a member of the technical team, the post holder will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of, setting up and a variety of operational duties in respect of the diverse range of productions and events staged by professional and amateur companies, as well as the routine maintenance of the venue equipment, as directed by the Technical Manager.

We are looking for a multi-skilled technician to join our technical team who will strive to offer the best possible service to all users of Blackwood Miners Institute and Caerphilly County Borough Council. You will help to ensure the smooth running of our venue and contribute to an efficient and safe working environment for all staff and visiting companies.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A recognised qualification in a technical or related field.
  • Good knowledge of operational aspects of theatrical staging, lighting, sound, digital and audio visual equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills with self-confidence and ability to communicate to a wide range of clients and staff members.
