Now, we’re looking for a Junior IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our dynamic team and help ensure smooth operations within our IT landscape.
Role Overview:
As a Junior IT Infrastructure Specialist at Spindogs, you will play an important role in ensuring the stability and functionality of both internal IT systems and external client infrastructures. You will be the first point of contact for front-line support within the company, as well as offering second-line IT support to clients. Your responsibilities will span from troubleshooting everyday technical issues to contributing to the implementation of new technologies that support our growing business.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their IT career who has a strong foundation in system administration, networking, and hardware. If you’re passionate about technology, have excellent problem-solving skills, and are keen to contribute to a team that values creativity and collaboration, this role could be perfect for you.
Main Responsibilities
Front-line IT support to the wider team
- Assisting with system set ups
- Troubleshooting IT issues with staff members via phone or face-to-face
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues
- Support installing, configuring and repairing hardware and operating systems
- Ensure there is an adequate supply of IT-related stock
Second-line IT support to customers
- Troubleshooting website hosting issues for example DNS, SSL certificates
- Monitoring and documenting backups
- Reviewing resource utilisation of hosting infrastructure
Skills Required - Essential
- Comfortable in either Windows or Linux systems (preferably some experience with both)
- Office365 experience
- Install and configure Operating System
- Install hardware and drivers
- Install and configure programs
- Willing and able to be in our Cardiff Office 2 days a week
- Good time management and accuracy
Skills Required – Desirable
- Experience in Microsoft Server administrator - for example managing Active Directory / Entra ID accounts in a cloud environment
- Contributing to technical documentation – for example contributing to weekly/monthly reports
- Experience with Azure – for example configuring Azure Dev Ops, Azure Resource Groups and/or Azure App Services
- Experience with a web hosting and server data center automation software (e.g. Plesk, cPanel, Key Help, etc)
- Experience with the Cyber Essentials certification
- Experience with a MDM such as Microsoft Intune
