About WMC/Our Department:
The customer operations team have an exciting new role for an experienced Retail Manager to join our team.
The team have just completed our most exciting year to date, launching a world leading Gala dinner for our 20th anniversary, alongside celebrating the first birthday of our brand new Ffrwnais space. As we enter our 21st year, we have exciting plans which include launching a brand new retail store and developing an outdoor venue that will be the hub of cardiff bay in the summer of 2025.
About the Role and Responsibilities:
As our Retail Manager you will be responsible for opening a brand new store, which will be the home of both WMC produced product along with the work of local makers. You will lead on the buying and merchandising of the store, as well as handpicking your own team to drive the store forward in being its own destination point.

Your role will be subject to a DBS check.
Key Requirements:
- A confident leader with a demonstrable track record of leading, inspiring and managing operational teams in retail.
- Skilled in overseeing multiple outlets, with demonstrable experience of delivering operational excellence to thousands of guests during each event and performance in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience with Profit and loss accountability and evidence of driving profitability.
- Positivity, vibrancy with a can-do attitude, the drive and ambition to take on projects and develop with given opportunities.
- Demonstrable experience of selecting and buying new products and effectively negotiating supplier agreements.
- Driven, self-motivated, keen to make a difference
- Strong planning and organisation skills to ensure that stock across all outlets is available and is creatively displayed to attract customers
