On December 8 2016 Creative Cardiff convened a symposium exploring the components of a creative city, in partnership with British Council Wales.

The symposium brought together leading thinkers and doers in the creative economy of the city and across the city.

At this event, Creative Cardiff launched Mapping Cardiff's Creative Economy, a detailed map of Cardiff's creative economy workforce which identified 2,788 creative companies, organisations and freelancers in Cardiff and the surrounding wards. The report was presented by Professor Justin Lewis of Cardiff University.

Other speakers at the soldout event included Hasan Bakhshi of Nesta, John Newbigin of Creative England and Kully Thiarai of National Theatre Wales. Find out more about the speakers here.
