Set on the waterfront of Cardiff Bay, Techniquest is the UK’s longest-established purpose-built Science Discovery Centre.  We are passionate about inspiring curiosity through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) and proudly welcome over 160,000 visitors each year — a mix of families, schools, independent adults, groups and corporate clients.

Our ambitious growth plans mean we need a creative marketing professional to take our campaigns to the next level. Our ‘small but mighty’ team is looking forward to welcoming a dynamic and enthusiastic marketing expert to the fold, who can develop innovative campaigns, deliver targeted promotions and create impactful communications that resonate with diverse audiences.

As our Marketing & Campaigns Manager, you will play a pivotal role in raising Techniquest’s profile, increasing visitor numbers and supporting income generation across all areas of the organisation: including ticket sales, events and venue hire.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering integrated marketing campaigns, which will encompass digital and traditional approaches, advertising, print, organic and paid social media, PR, direct marketing and more.

This role also provides a unique opportunity to be heavily involved in the development of our CRM activities, offering a fantastic chance to shape our future direct marketing capabilities. You will use data and audience insight to inform your marketing decisions, ensuring campaigns are evidence-based and deliver measurable results. You’ll also be skilled in creative copywriting and storytelling, with a strong understanding of brand consistency and tone of voice.

Excellent project-management skills will be essential, as you’ll be juggling multiple campaigns and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You’ll understand the need for speed to react to unexpected opportunities as well as working through pre-planned activities, in order to reach the widest audience possible.

You’ll already have worked in an environment where the customer is at the centre of your approach to marketing; ideally in either a science discovery centre, visitor attraction, education centre or cultural outlet. Whether those audiences attended theatre, concerts or curated collections in a museum, the key element is that you already understand the principle of the visitor being at the very heart of all that we do.

As an inclusive organisation, we’re committed to equal opportunities and to fostering a positive working environment. In summary, we offer:

  • Flexible hybrid working
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • An additional wellbeing day
  • A day off for your birthday
  • 10 complimentary tickets each year for friends and family to visit
  • Childcare voucher scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme
  • A small, supportive team environment
  • The chance to work in an inspiring and creative environment
