To celebrate the return of spring to Cathays, join Cardiff University's Pharmabees in a series of events to connect with the animal, plant and human residents who call this vibrant space home.
Part of the Greening Cathays project, delivered in partnership with Creative Cardiff and funded by Cardiff Council.
Pop-up exhibition: 17 to 19 March
From the 17 to 19 March (10:00 - 16:00), a pop-up exhibition will run in the foyer of the Haydn Ellis Building (Cardiff University) on Maindy Road.
The exhibition will highlight the plight of pollinators, the impact of climate change and the importance of local wildlife. During the event, you can experience what it is like to stand inside a beehive using VR and learn more about our hedgehog neighbours and the work being done to create a hedgehog friendly campus at Cardiff University.
You can view the world through the eyes of a bee and learn how the Pharmabees liquid tree project is employing technology from the international space station to combat climate change.
You can also view the artwork of local school children and help Pharmabees select the images which will feature on the bee trail (currently under construction).
Finally, this is an opportunity to meet the Pharmabees and Hedgehog Friendly Campus teams and learn how you can get involved in supporting nature in Cathays.
Learn about the work: 22 March
On the afternoon of the 22 March from 13:00 - 16:00 join your fellow residents in the lobby of the Sherman Theatre on Senghenydd Road to learn about the work of voluntary groups to support nature in Cathays and make it a nicer place to live.
Tree planting event: 27 March
On the 27 March, Pharmabees are holding a community tree planting event led by Coed Caerdydd at ASSL (Arts and Social Studies Library) in the Cathays campus. Register to attend.

Greening Cathays Artists Commissions
This exciting initiative, funded with support from Cardiff City Council through the Shared Prosperity Fund, aims to bring together communities by creating nature-rich urban environments which will support biodiversity, re-energize public spaces through creativity and allow diverse residents to connect with the natural world, and with each other.
We are delighted to be working with brilliant local artists to deliver their ambitious proposals in Cathays, find out more.
