What you’ll do…

Play the leading role in developing a catering business model that ensures future financial sustainability. Ensure that all aspects of the catering business are aligned to the organisational values and our ten-year strategy commitments. Reporting directly to the Head of Enterprises, you will also be responsible for improving business efficiency, increasing profits, and embedding the visitor experience charter commitments in all food and beverage functions.

What you’ll achieve…

You will produce a comprehensive and detailed study of the existing food and beverage offer across the organisation • Establish and present a financially sustainable catering business model that aligns with the organisational ten-year strategic commitments

Deliver tendering project(s) for any third-party catering contracts

Establish internal communications and training programs to deliver engaging experiences through the food and beverage offer

Provision of a high-quality food and beverage offer that meets the needs of a wide-ranging audience across six museums

All areas of the business will comply with the highest health and safety standards, food hygiene standards and licensing legislation

A motivated team that understands its role in achieving business targets and delivering the longer-term growth plans • Meet or exceed the agreed annual business performance targets

Develop future strategic map for the food and beverage offer across Amgueddfa Cymru

How you’ll achieve this…

Work with stakeholders, partners, and the Museum’s executive team to deliver a wide-ranging catering consultation programme

Develop a detailed project timeline to deliver the catering review and establish external support where appropriate to support delivery

Develop a business modelling project to enable a suite of recommendations to be presented to the executive team

Develop feasibility studies and detailed business plans to support catering recommendation

Manage successful tendering processes from initiation to contract to confirm a suitable and capable supplier/s

Lead on any subsequent transition to a new or different commercial operating model for visitor and event catering

Manage the existing franchise catering contract and matrix manage internal catering teams

Develop positive and effective relationships with departments across Amgueddfa Cymru that contribute to developing the future food and beverage offer

Develop the infrastructure and consistent processes to establish beneficial procurement routes to purchase locally and sustainably

Develop a pricing model to support financial stability whilst providing value for money to visitors, private venue hire event clients and Amgueddfa Cymru hosted events

Develop menus and products that celebrate Welsh produce

The knowledge and qualifications you’ll need…

• Project management qualification – like PRINCE2 or equivalent experience

• Relevant qualifications which may include City & Guilds diploma/other professional credentials or experience managing multi-venue catering businesses

• Extensive knowledge of the catering and hospitality sector

• Level 3 in food safety/hygiene

• Knowledge of hospitality and catering within visitor attractions and/or tourism sector

The experience you’ll need…

• Successful delivery of complex commercial project on time and within budget

• Proven experience in stakeholder consultation

• Demonstrable experience of delivering business improvements in a catering context

• Mentoring teams to achieve a range of business targets

• Negotiating and developing commercial contracts

• Background in delivering high quality event catering

• Tendering experience of high value contracts
