Fio makes fearless theatre. Fio in Latin means to belong, to create, to grow.
The organisation is entering an exciting new phase that requires an Executive Director to head and support its core team and those it collaborates with. Founded in 2016, our ethos is aligned with representing the voices of those who are not represented or who are often misrepresented in society. We envision a world where everyone has a voice to tell their story, be it politically, culturally or something more personal. We have grown to become the only BAME led touring theatre company based in Cardiff, Wales. This is monumental but much work is still to be done on the grounds of inclusivity and diversity. Thus, this role will not only require for the post-holder to be passionate about the Arts, but to hold these core values.
We work across three mutually overlapping and mutually supportive strands: Projects, People and Productions. Whilst we believe theatre is one of the most enduringly powerful ways to story-tell, we have participated in other means of delivery such as community engagement programmes, youth programmes and cultural participatory sharing.
As Fio enters its Autumn term, we require the post-holder to oversee the business and its activities until 31st March 2021.
Ideally, we will need someone with a rich and diverse background in the Arts sector, possessing strong leadership and organisational skills. They will need to hit the ground running, unafraid to challenge the status quo with the support of the Assistant Producer on the day-to-day running of the organisation.
