Overview of the role
Orchard is a leading integrated agency based in central Cardiff, working with clients such as Welsh Government, MotoNovo Finance, Principality Building Society and our strategic partners Heavenly. We are at an exciting point in our expansion plans for the Orchard Creative team and are searching for hot talent to further contribute to our success. We currently have vacancies for a talented Middleweight Designer, as well as an exceptionally motivated and experienced Senior Designer.
As Senior Designer, you will work both independently and collaboratively, supporting the Creative Director by overseeing the Creative team and ensuring that our creative work is to the highest standard.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
- Create concepts and communications that strategically deliver and rationalise the client’s brief.
- Direct, manage and lead large scale projects to keep them on-concept and on-brand.
- Art Direction and technical direction of specific projects.
- Development of a strategic approach to projects.
- Manage and mentor creative team members.
- Instigate and lead both internal and external meetings.
- Work closely with and support the Creative Director, Client Services and directly with clients, as required.
- Oversee the creative quality of internal marketing materials. For example, tenders, pitches and social content.
- Quick but considered creative direction across all design disciplines (print, web, digital, experiential)
- Original design work on a wide range of projects that delivers and rationalises the client’s brief.
All about you
Required experience:
- High level experience - 5-7 years working within a creative or integrated advertising agency
- An impressive portfolio demonstrating a proven track record of working at the intersection of strategy and design
- Complete confidence in the Adobe Creative suite, particularly, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, XD and After Effects
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- A mindset that is organised and detail-oriented
- Familiarity with all phases of the design process and ability to work with a team through execution of all phases (strategy, conceptualisation, development, budgeting, creating proposals, client approvals, resources management; execution; and close-out)
- Excellence in client communication and customer service
