Creative Cardiff hosts a monthly gathering for artists, businesses and creative freelancers called 'Creative Cuppa'. These informal events will bring the creative community together for the all-important three Cs - connection, creativity and caffeine.
Join us for a chance to meet, connect and learn from other creatives, whether you're just starting out or have been working in the industry for decades. Each Creative Cuppa starts with a TED-style talk on a theme that is relevant across all creative sectors, followed by an informal hour to sit down, chat and eat cake! These are relaxed gatherings to meet other creatives and share opportunities.
Creative Cuppa October: Who’s afraid of running a music event?
It's been an exciting few months for music in Cardiff with a jam-packed summer of live performances at our stadium, castle, arena and grassroots music venues. Things are about to get even busier as October marks Cardiff Music City Festival which includes Llais, Welsh Music Prize and Sŵn Festival.
As music fans, it's often hard to imagine all the work that goes into making these live music events happen. But what does it actually take to organise a successful music event? Which steps do we need to follow to make sure things run smoothly? And what do we do if they don't? Join us at this Creative Cuppa as we ask 'Who's afraid of organising a music event?' with Bethan Jones-Ollerton.
Bethan is one of the organisers of Tafwyl, an annual event in Bute Park, Cardiff. The Welsh language cultural festival brings creatives together to celebrate Welsh music, language and culture within the capital city and offers a platform for Welsh language performers who take centre stage throughout this free two-day event. Bethan also performs stand-up comedy under the name Beth Jones, two personalities like Clark Kent but instead of glasses Beth just took off the 'an' to hide her identity!
