Creative Cardiff hosts a monthly gathering for artists, businesses and creative freelancers called 'Creative Cuppa'. These informal events will bring the creative community together for the all-important three Cs - connection, creativity and caffeine.
Join us for a chance to meet, connect and learn from other creatives, whether you're just starting out or have been working in the industry for decades. Each Creative Cuppa starts with a TED-style talk on a theme that is relevant across all creative sectors, followed by an informal hour to sit down, chat and eat cake! These are relaxed gatherings to meet other creatives and share opportunities.
Creative Cuppa May: Who's afraid of managing events?
Summer is fast approaching, meaning that a range of festivals, gigs and events will shortly be taking over the city. As attendees, it's often hard to imagine all the work that goes into making these cultural events happen. But what does it actually take to organise a successful event? Which steps do we need to follow to make sure things run smoothly? And what do we do if they don't? Whether you're approaching your first event or looking to brush up on your event management skills, join us at this Creative Cuppa as we ask 'Who's afraid of managing events?'.
To kick off the discussion, we'll be joined by Corey Bullock, Group Commercial Hire Manager at Amgueddfa Cymru. Prior to his current role at Amgueddfa Cymru, Corey has spent a decade working in arts and performance venues including the Torch Theatre, the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and the Sherman Theatre, working across Front of House, Marketing, Programming, Producing and Venue Hire. From conferences to concerts and workshops to weddings, it’s unlikely there’s an event he hasn’t managed at least once!
