Creative Cardiff, in partnership with Monmouthshire Council, is hosting a monthly gathering for artists, businesses and creative freelancers between January - March 2024, called 'Creative Cuppa'. These informal events will bring Monmouthshire's creative community together for the all-important three Cs - connection, creativity and caffeine.

Join us for a chance to meet, connect and learn from other creatives, whether you're just starting out or have been working in the industry for decades. Each Creative Cuppa starts with a TED-style talk on a theme that is relevant across all creative sectors, followed by an informal hour to sit down, chat and eat cake! These are relaxed gatherings to meet other creatives and share opportunities.

Journalism is for citizens, not for journalists

This month's Creative Cuppa will begin with a short talk by Shirish Kulkarni.

Shirish is a journalist, researcher, community organiser and News Innovation Research Fellow of Media Cymru at the Cardiff University School of Journalism.

He works across a range of media and artistic projects, particularly focusing on storytelling with and for marginalised people and communities. He is currently leading the News for All project, a collaboration with BBC News aimed at understanding and meeting the information needs of people who don’t currently see, or get a value from traditional journalism.
