Creative Cardiff Administrator - Digital Content

This role will communicate the work of the Creative Cardiff network to engage our members and stakeholders and tell the story of Cardiff as a connected, collaborative and inclusive creative capital.

Collaborating closely with the Operations and Engagement Manager, the role holder will develop and implement high-quality, bilingual and creative digital content for Creative Cardiff’s website, newsletter and social media channels.

The ideal candidate will use their experience, expertise and flair to amplify the stories of Cardiff’s creative workforce and cultural identity, in line with the Creative Cardiff strategy. They will also understand the challenges facing people in the creative and cultural sectors in this region and can generate original content to ensure creatives from all backgrounds are seen and heard.

Location: a combination of remote working and office working at either of our offices in Sbarc or the School of Journalism, Media and Culture.

This post is part-time for 3 days a week (60% FTE - 21 hours per week) and fixed term for 12 months.

Key Duties

  • To use the Creative Cardiff communications strategy as a base to provide detailed advice and guidance on Creative Cardiff’s processes and procedures, using judgement and creativity to suggest the most appropriate course of action from which to develop plans and multiplatform, bilingual campaigns for the Creative Cardiff network.
  • To work with the Operations and Engagement Manager to improve our ways of working, including populating the Creative Cardiff website, social media and newsletter (this includes writing articles, publishing opportunities and press releases and contributing to the fortnightly newsletter).
  • To assist in developing Creative Cardiff’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn) with new campaigns using current trends and innovative approaches.  
  • To produce regular video and audio content to a high standard and explore the potential for developing a TikTok channel for Creative Cardiff.
  • To be a brand champion and guardian, using the Creative Cardiff brand guidelines and visual identity across a variety of mediums.
  • To develop Creative Cardiff’s audiences, growing engagement and participation with a diverse range of stakeholders and communities online. 
  • To be aware of the latest online content trends, emerging digital platforms and new technology which could be utilised to communicate Creative Cardiff’s activity to a wider audience, assessing their suitability and potential impact and, where appropriate, implement with support from the Operations and Engagement Manager.
  • To support the Operations and Engagement Manager with delivering internal communications activity to promote Creative Cardiff and the Centre for the Creative Economy.
  • To attend events and meetings to promote the work of Creative Cardiff, encourage engagement and develop existing and new relationships.
  • To monitor, measure, evaluate and report on communications and marketing activity on a regular basis.
  • To work with the Operations and Engagement Manager to deliver Creative Cardiff’s student engagement strategy and develop new campaigns and content ideas to engage with Higher Education and Further Education students in the city.
  • To undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the wider Creative Cardiff and Centre for the Creative Economy Team.
