In 2025 Artes Mundi will launch Artes Mundi 11 (AM11), our eleventh biennial exhibition and prize, presenting groundbreaking international contemporary art in Wales. As the second pan-Wales iteration of the project, AM11 will take place across four cities with five venue partners. In order to realise this ambitious project and overall programme, considerable fundraising success is required.
The Role
Reporting to the Curator of Public Programmes, the Assistant Curator of Public Programmes is a key public facing role for Artes Mundi’s audiences and an important position connecting with the Public Programme team. This post is designed to assist with logistical planning, content development and creative delivery for the AM11 Public Programme of events, talks, tours and workshops. A key goal is to engage audiences, participants and contributors equitably and fully in our work through design and delivery of activities that are informative, appealing and that create a positive experience.
Terms of Appointment
The Assistant Curator in Public Programmes post will be a freelance position, with a fee of £25,500 which equates to £250 per day, 3 days per week for 34 weeks. To be paid in monthly instalments by invoice.
Typical working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm. The post holder will be asked to deliver and undertake work on some evenings and weekends. Appropriate notice will be given. This post involves working with children and vulnerable adults.
