I am an Arts and Business Cymru Development Intern working across all aspects of the fundraising portfolio at Wales' national arts centre, Wales Millennium Centre.

This demanding crash course year has has laid down the foundations for a future career in arts fundraising with an equal steer towards Individual Giving and Business Development. I have produced funding applications for Trusts and Foundations, carried out significant prospect research which has led to successful gifts and created significant research documents including a comprehensive 120 person prospect portfolio.

I have been involved with the organisation and planning of prospects and supporters events aligned with the Centre's most ambitious projects to date (Cardiff's first biennial International Arts Festival and the Centre's first home grown musical) as well as writing supporter mailings and working on an initiative to up-sell membership schemes.

Within the Business Development team, I have provided support for principle corporate accounts. This has included involved compiling end of year sponsorship reports, proof reading proposals and putting together awards applications as well as helping with corporate supporter events.
