EA Productions, is a visionary company dedicated to immersive events and experiences, and is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an experienced Creative Director. This role is a cornerstone for our latest project, "The School of Planet Powers for Extraordinary Children," a children’s environmental immersive theatre piece inspired by the enchanting preschool book, "The Little Blue Planet Needs You."

Project Phase

This opportunity marks the second research and development (R&D) phase of our project, funded by the Arts Council Wales. With your creative vision, we aim to elevate this project to its performance stage, envisioned as the project's third phase.

Ideal Candidate

The perfect candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience in directing immersive theatre, especially tailored for children.
  • Adeptness in devising and working with actors, focusing on narrative and emotional beats to craft engaging and meaningful experiences.
  • Bilingual abilities in Welsh and English, with experience in creating bilingual content.
  • Familiarity with working closely alongside an Artistic Director who has developed the creative framework of the project through the previous R&D, bringing a collaborative and innovative approach to the table.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the nuances and constraints associated with Arts Council funded projects, particularly regarding timelines and deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creative vision and direction for "The School of Planet Powers for Extraordinary Children."
  • Work collaboratively with the Artistic Director and project team to develop the project through its second R&D phase and prepare it for performance.
  • Implement a creative process that is inclusive, innovative, and child-friendly, ensuring an immersive and impactful experience for our audience.
  • Navigate the project within the scope of Arts Council Wales' guidelines and timelines.

Important Dates

  2. Interviews: Thursday 24th and Friday 25th April
  3. Castings for Actors will be taking place in the W/C 6th May
  4. Two weeks of R&D will be taking place during the first two weeks of June.
