About

I love the creative and performing arts and I’ve been lucky to have an eclectic career in both these fields. I love creative writing and have worked independently and collaboratively to in many projects. My poetry has been published in arts magazines and performed in many venues, I have a self published novella on Amazon Kindles and last year I had my first fantasy novel published by Pemberton Publishing, now available in Waterstones and Foyles, with a new one coming out this year. I’ve also worked for a writing company collaboratively with a team to develop fictional plot outlines for ghostwriters. I’m also a theatrical stage manager, have worked for many theatre companies in London. I make sure the wheels run on time, which often involves creative problem solving, both logistically and artistically. A lot of the pre-production time involves prop making from many different materials for set-building and personal props, done with other SM professionals and students.

Review of Icebound: The Dwarven Tales by Gerald Criss

(Five stars)

“A great read.”

‘This is a fantastic read, couldn’t put it down until I was finished. Well rounded and interesting characters in an engaging and original story. I was captivated and found myself drawn to the plight of the dwarves… I’m dying to find out what’s next!’

By Lisa Stokke for work as stage manager.

‘Alan and I worked together in The Baker’s Wife at the Union Theatre when I played Genevieve the title role, and he performed his essential work as Stage Manager to perfection. I’d happily recommend Alan to anyone.’
