Lone Worlds will be running LGBTQIA+ community wellbeing workshops out of the Peilot Space, Chapter Arts Centre. We are looking for a trained Safeguarding Supervisor to:
- Work closely with the Lone Worlds Creative Producers on securing wellbeing and safety for those attending and those running the sessions.
- Ensure the sessions are led ethically, according to safeguarding standards.
- Evaluate with the Creative Producers and feedback on any suggestions, changes or successes.
Session Dates : 19th September, 3rd October, 17th October, 7th November, 21st November, 5th December.
The role requires complete availability for all sessions noted. If you are unable to carry out the work during your role please get in touch with the lead contacts as soon as you can.
What we are looking for in our Safeguarding Supervisor:
- LGBTQIA+ identifying or ally.
- Aware of disability, including neurodivergent.
- Aware of intersectionality.
- Accreditation or portfolio of relevant experience.
- Welsh language (preferable).
- Familiarity with arts and wellbeing (preferable).
- Familiar with authentic movement (preferable).
Time frame Details
- The evening classes will run for 2 hours, from 6-8pm, on Thursdays (approximately twice a month).
- There will be 6 sessions, summing up to approximately 12 hrs of work.
- The sessions will run from September-December 2024.
The sessions will focus on holding space for neurodivergent focused, non-verbal methods of creating; exploring how community creativity re-connects us with our bodies and minds. The group will lean heavily into mindfulness, relaxation and movement practice. The co-creative nature of the course means there will be a constant and open dialogue between participants and facilitators, to gain a deeper understanding of the needs of the participants and impact the direction of the program.
