This is the job…

Wordtree is a small, specialist consultancy. We provide high-level strategic support to clients in professional services and B2B organisations.

Our new senior project manager will have frequent contact with clients who are relying on us for strategic support and timely delivery. You’ll keep them informed and in the loop on project progress. And you’ll diplomatically balance client needs with resource management.

You’ll keep on top of project-related admin and communications and will become a highly visible and important member of our small team.

You’ll primarily be working from home – but there will be occasions where you’ll need to travel. We frequently spend time on our clients’ premises in the UK (London, Cardiff, Glasgow, Edinburgh). Less frequently, we spend time with clients in mainland Europe and the USA.

You will be…

We’re looking for a colleague who’s calm, personable and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You’ll be proactive, professional, brilliant with people – and you’ll leave no stone unturned to get the best results for our clients.

Crucially, you must be:

  • A people person – you’ll collaborate willingly and productively with colleagues and clients
  • Enthusiastic and positive
  • Someone who can identify opportunities for Wordtree and for our clients
  • A team player who’s ready to muck in and get the job done

Your skills and experience will include…

  • Managing multi-stakeholder, complex corporate projects – from an agency or professional services organisation perspective
  • Passionate about making change happen – and solving challenges for our clients
  • Being a good listener and note-taker who can translate client conversations into the context of project structure and resourcing
  • Having the confidence to push back if necessary, and the people skills to do this diplomatically
  • Being able to challenge constructively
  • Balancing dynamic client needs with resourcing and availability
  • Being a crystal-clear and persuasive communicator
  • Using project management software to track timelines and budgets
  • Preparing proposals, watertight SOWs and client contracts
  • Using Excel and PowerPoint competently
  • Having meticulous filing and document management skills
  • Being able to learn continuously
  • Having a real desire to play a key role in our growth

Preferably, you’ll also have

  • Deep understanding of the key challenges facing B2B business today
  • Up-to-date understanding of change management approaches
  • An understanding of coaching and negotiation techniques

What you’ll get in return

Wordtree is a small, supportive consultancy with a relatively flat structure. It’s an environment where your contribution is highly visible and career opportunities are yours to create.

This is a PT role, for the equivalent of three days per week (~24hrs per week). This could be the equivalent of 9-5pm three days a week, or your hours could be split out over four or five shorter days, for example, to accommodate a school run or other commitments.

More specifically, you will receive:

  • A salary of up to £35k pro rata (highly dependent on experience)
  • 5% pension contribution
  • Top-up private healthcare
  • 20 days holiday (+BHs) increasing by one day with each year of service
  • Flexible hours - by mutual agreement, in advance
  • Calm app
  • Support with learning
  • A supportive, professional environment where your voice counts
