About Portfolio Managers
Portfolio Managers are senior arts professionals who combine their significant arts expertise with their strong business knowledge to help practically deliver a range of initiatives linked to the Arts Council of Wales’ priorities. Portfolio Managers are also line managers to the Development Officers.
Responsibilities linked to this role include:
- Welsh language
- Wellbeing of Future Generations and the Environmental Agenda
- Public partnerships, including Local Authorities
- Classical music
- Dance
- Festivals and outdoor arts

About you
If you are someone who has previous experience of working in the arts or communities and can inspire confidence in the sector, this role could be for you. You will need to be a problem solver and creative thinker, and also know how to be productive, organised and how to get things done. We can teach you the skills you’ll need if you are curious and driven enough to be part of our team.

We work in both English and Welsh. Due to the portfolio of this particular vacancy, fluency in Welsh (both written and spoken) to a minimum of Level 3 is essential for this post. We can support you to develop and improve your language skills further and to increase your confidence in speaking and writing in Welsh.

The Arts Council will provide support to ensure that you feel comfortable stepping into the organisation, the type of which may be new or unfamiliar to you, so that you can feel your best self at work. Mentoring or training will also be provided during the induction period, if required.
