Have you got something to say?
Do you feel angry at the current state of the world?
Do you feel that what matters to you and your future are ignored?

We’re looking for young working-class people who are passionate about making change – who might not know where to start, who want to learn, make friends and be part of a movement for change.

Take Your Place is an arts and activism project for working-class young people. Through a series of 12-week creative workshops, young people will explore who they are, why that’s important and what matters to them.

We will deep-dive into themes of power, leadership, community organising, and social justice and will work together to make a creative response.

We will meet weekly on Wednesdays from 5:30pm-8:00 pm at the Grange Pavilion. The project will begin from January 7th until March 31st.

We will pay £10 per person in expenses for each session; this can be paid via bank transfer or in shopping vouchers. We do not need proof of expense receipts. In addition to this, if you live in a different part of Cardiff, we can cover your transport costs there and back for each session. We are keen to have young people from across the city.

We have a short application process online, and we can also support applications at our taster sessions.

Our taster session will take place on Wednesday, November 19th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Grange Pavilion. It’ll be an opportunity to meet us, see what it’s all about and ask any questions.

To apply, please answer the following questions by email. Feel free to type, write or video a response—deadline 1 pm on 1st December 2025.

  • Tell us a bit about yourself?
  • What would you like to change in Cardiff?
  • Please share with us a photograph, writing, or drawing about something that matters most to you.

To send your application via email, please send it to eugenia@commonwealththeatre.co.uk

If you have any trouble making an application or need any additional support please contact eugenia@commonwealththeatre.co.uk
