The opportunity

The Strategic Marketing Projects Manager is a senior member of the Marketing and Research Team at ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre. This Team currently includes:

  • Marketing and Communications
  • Academic Research Group

This is a new role that will work closely with the Commercial and Marketing Director in the following activities:

  • Strategic marketing projects- develop and deliver key strategic marketing projects aligned to the objectives of the Welsh Government funded Project HELIX.
  • Public affairs- develop and deliver the public affairs strategy and plan including the engagement of key stakeholders such as Welsh Government officials, Local Authority officials, and other key actors in the food and drink industry.
  • Project proposals and delivery - play a key role in the development of proposals to secure future funding for ZERO2FIVE.

Project HELIX is a major project that enables the ZERO2FIVE to work with Welsh food and drink companies to improve their technical and commercial capabilities.

As part of Project HELIX, ZERO2FIVE works closely with industrial partners to support businesses with new product development, technical improvements and marketing.

What you’ll do – key duties

  • Engagement with senior food and drink businesses at Director/Owner level to understand food and drink business’ requirements for the next 5 years.
  • Manage the existing CEO South Cluster programme.
  • Development of a Contact Management System to improve relationship management with companies and key stakeholders.
  • Develop a working knowledge of current and potential policies that are relevant to the ZERO2FIVE (e.g. Well-being of Future Generations Act).
  • Develop a working knowledge of current and potential funding opportunities that are relevant to the ZERO2FIVE.
  • Effectively engage with senior stakeholders (e.g. senior public sector officials).
  • Manage ZERO2FIVE’s collaboration with other Schools within Cardiff Met University (e.g. develop the successful relationship with the Cardiff School of Art and Design’s Perceptual Experience Lab).
  • Identify and manage applications for project funding from both UK and Welsh funding bodies
