Applications are invited from visual artists for the 2021-22 Artists Residency programme in the Elan Valley, mid-Wales. Three residencies are available: one for August-December 2021, one for January-June 2022 and one for August-December 2022. Through the arts we want to better understand, explore and engage with nature, water and issues around sustainability, as well as the rural/urban dynamic. The Artists’ Residencies aim to help us achieve this.
The Elan Valley is a special place with a unique landscape, story and history. Part of the rugged Cambrian Mountains, it is a beautiful and unspoilt area, which is a haven for wildlife. It is made even more compelling by the Victorian era dams and reservoirs which together create a wonderful, living landscape. Accommodation is provided on site.
The closing date for applications is 12noon on Friday 26 March 2021. To download the brief and application form, please visit: https://www.elanvalley.org.uk/news/article/artists-residencies-open-2021-22 Alternatively, please email caroline.freeman@elanvalley.org.uk
The residencies programme is supported by the Arts Council of Wales, Elan Valley Trust, Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and Community Arts Rhayader and District (CARAD).
