Speaking at the event were:

  • Carys Wynne-Morgan from Arts Council of Wales who shared information on the latest round of their Connect and Flourish fund and
  • Ollie and Piotr from Cardiff Metropolitan University’s PDR (design and innovation research) team who talked about User-Factor – a fully funded opportunity for SMEs to gain 5 – 8 days design support from the PDR team on whatever project deemed suitable for your business or organisation. It could come in the form of service design, market or user research, workshops in innovation and design thinking or other kinds of user centred design support.

You can find out more about both opportunities by following the links above.

List of opportunities shared at collaborate event

Opportunities shared from the community included:

  • Show Face Festival is a virtual theatre festival organisation that brings together emerging creatives from all disciplines. We're looking for partnerships with people who want to help us build this community – e.g. writers, artists, musicians and creatives of all kind to run workshops and groups and bring new ideas together. We're also eager to partner with anyone who knows anything about technology! eg website and app designers. Please feel free to contact me for more details: showfacefestivalwelfare@gmail.com
  • Cooked Illustrations: turning complex ideas and research into fun illustrated, visual or other forms of engaging content. You can contact us via email: cookedillustrations@gmail.com or check our website: https://www.cookedillustrations.com/
  • Whether you are a graduate, school leaver or just looking to change career, there are a number of BBC new talent schemes that could suit you. Applications are opening in early April for the majority of our schemes but in the meantime, find out more information here - https://www.bbc.co.uk/careers/trainee-schemes-and-apprenticeships
  • Sofi Nowell is looking for an animator who can bring to life artists paintings for a Visual Music project for deaf audiences: sofinowell@gmail.com
  • Jordan Forse is looking to get in touch with those who are interested in potentially being involved in a large community arts project within the Vale of Glamorgan. We are currently making an application to C&F, hosted by the VOG Council. We are looking to engage those around the Vale of Glamorgan and surrounding areas, to support us in engaging larger communities through arts, media and theatre. We want to create unlikely alliances with freelancers, organisations and businesses to create a bit of a festival / parade that culminates in one large theatre performance. If this is something that you would like to hear more about or would like to find out how to get involved please do drop me an email on hello@jordanforse.co.uk
  • Ffion Glyn is looking for collaborators/facilitators/artitsts and community activists that identify as part of Butetown’s community to explore telling Betty Campbell’s story across Wales. Email: Ffionglyn@gmail.com or find out more here: www.mewcymeriad.cymru
  • Rhyanne El-Nazer is looking to get in touch with anyone who can produce candle moulds. Email: rhyannenazer@gmail.com
