At the second Need! Have! Collaborate! session to connect and collaborate across the creative community, we welcomed more than 25 creatives online.

Speaking at the event were: 

  • Ruth Wootton is a Career Coach and Resilience expert. She will be sharing information on her Career Resilience Webinars and offering a number of free places to individuals and organisations across the creative community who are interested in finding out more.  

  • Catalina Dumbraveanu, Media Innovation Project Manager at The Vrije Universiteit Brussel, will share information on the Stars4Media initiative which supports collaborative initiatives developed by at least two media organisations from two different EU countries (the UK included). They are looking for participants who are media professionals (mainly young “rising stars”, plus their optional senior mentors - all eligible for a grant), interested in collaborating around Stars4Media ‘Initiatives'.

Opportunities shared from the community included: 

  • Cardiff and Vale College offering free courses to progress or change career with many courses offering practical skills for creative careers. Find out more here. For more information contact Christopher Duffy on: CDuffy@cavc.ac.uk. Chris is also looking to engage with any organisation who is interested in recruiting a junior journalist apprentice.  

  • Connor Allen, representing Cultural Freelancers Wales shared: Over the next few weeks as we aim to build and consolidate the aims and values of Cultural Freelancers Wales, we are asking for freelancers to join a paid session (£25 per hour) to offer thoughts, questions, and ideas to help build our new collective organisation. As freelancers working and operating in Wales, what changes do YOU want to see?   • Tom Barker, from PQA Cardiff shared that they are looking for a musical theatre teacher to work in their academies. Full job information here

  • People of Doom are a second-hand lifestyle and clothing brand aiming to change the way we consume. We need people to help share our story, to grow the awareness of environmental and social overexploitation and to spread awareness of our business helping to fight this. We are up for collaborating on creative projects, interviews, any journalism, music videos etc anything you can come up with to collaborate we are ready to go!
