Textiles have become my favourite medium for creating.
I have studied design at uni level and continue through my life.
Recently I started a small business reinventing unwanted garment 2textiles into bags and accessories.
They have sold on etsy and through craft events. Also friends and family frequently buy from me. My prices are low to encourage buyers to join the upcycling environment. Also this allows me to keep making.
Currently I am exhibiting in Cardiff City Centre through Craft Folk for eight days. Starting 15th to 22nd May 2021.
Manipulati0n and the recreation of textiles that would normally end up in landfill, can be really enjoyable especially when shared with other people.
Currently customers on etsy are very excited about the eco aspect of my shop.
I would love to share this to the people of Cardiff as I am aware, many are looking to this way of living.
My designs are all 'one off' individual bags. I create from whatever comes my way and challenges me.
Pictures do not always give my designs the best appearance.
The bags are tactile and colourful.
Customer and friends love the designs and sewing customisations.
They also love to know the history of the garments too.
The colours and designs receive praise for being attractive and fun.
The linings are always a surprise once someone looks inside as I always try to find something colourful and patterned. I have had many compliments regarding this.
