Do you want to help celebrate the literary culture and heritage of Nottingham? Are you an Early Career Researcher with skills in storytelling or Story analysis?
We are collaborating with several partner organisations to appoint nine Story Fellows with a passion for crafting, telling, and analysing stories, who can bring a strong mix of creativity, problem solving, and innovative thinking to this AHRC-funded research Programme run by The Story Society at Bath Spa University.
You will be based at the University of Nottingham and at the Host organisation Nottingham City of Literature, where you will work to find a creative solution to a problem that they think Story Skills can solve.
In 2025, Nottingham City of Literature (NUCoL) will celebrate its 10th anniversary. As it reaches this landmark occasion, NUCoL is seeking a Story Fellow to honour and memorialise a decade of impact. You’ll gather and share stories of NUCoL’s local and international impact, contributing to a vision and strategy for the decade to come.
You will be curious, creative, proactive and professionally personable. You’ll be able to craft stories that illuminate insightful details and spotlight local significance, while weaving these together within an impactful grand narrative.
The project will be based at Nottingham Central Library, with flexibility for remote work. The Story Fellow will have access to office space, existing project reports, and key stakeholders. Your endeavour with NUCoL will span 14 months. For the first 12, you’ll work (on balance) 2 days a week on your placement and 0.5 on independent and StoryArcs research and training. For the final 2 months, you’ll contribute directly to analysis and dissemination of the Story Skill Set with the central StoryArcs team.
This role offers significant potential to develop your research career and be part of a prestigious AHRC-funded Programme.
