About WMC/Our Department:

The Finance team leads on matters relating to risk and finance at WMC.We develop processes and procedures that allow WMC to operate effectively and efficiently, whilst minimising risk.The finance team aims to provide a value-added service through the production of accurate and timely financial information and effective finance business partnering.

About the Role and Responsibilities:

This new role has been created within the team, this is an ideal move for a career driven accountant looking for a role which sees progression up to Head of Finance level.

You will be an essential asset in supporting the Head of Finance in driving forward projects, achieving business objectives and leading the team to success. The role involves cross-department collaboration, interacting with senior stakeholders, financial reporting and implementing process improvements.

The role will be involved in all aspects of the business from a month end reporting perspective and will require the candidate to work autonomously across all departments within the business. It offers the opportunity to progress and develop your exposure to financial projects and strategic influence with key stakeholders in the wider business.

We are looking for a qualified accountant with strong business acumen who can hit the ground running. This is the perfect opportunity for a finance professional with ambitions to excel their career within a Charitable organisation.

Specific duties include -

  • Production of monthly management accounts for various business units
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Assist with year-end accounting requirements
  • Business partnering to provide financial insight to a variety of key internal stakeholders
  • Identifying and implementing process and system improvements where necessary
  • Mentoring and supervising other members of the finance team

Your role will be subject to a DBS check


Key Requirements:

The successful candidate will be CIMA qualified or almost qualified with extensive experience in a similar role. Experience of supervising staff is essential and strong communication skills are imperative to succeed in the business partnering elements of the role. A forward-thinking working approach is required, with the ability to identify and resolve issues, and improve existing processes within the finance function.
