Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for an experienced Dresser to work on the London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

 

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, this new play by Jack Thorne received its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016. The critically acclaimed production is the most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in 2017. 

 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Experience in theatre on a large-scale production is desirable. 

Candidates will require relevant hands-on professional experience in costume, an understanding of sewing techniques preferred but not essential. Along with the ability to work under pressure and within a team and good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong organisational and time management qualities.

 

Responsibilities include dressing performers prior to and during rehearsals and performances and other performance-related activities, working as part of an efficient and successful department and liaising with all other departments on the production and associated personnel. Other responsibilities include maintaining costumes and reporting repairs to the wardrobe team to ensure the design of the production is preserved.

Start Date:  April 2024.

Please Note: All applicants must be able to commit to the full contract. 

Job Location: West End London. 

Contract Type: A year contract in the first instance, then the contract will be rolling.

Salary: Show rate as per SOLT/BECTU Agreement.

Weekly Hours: 8 shows per week plus maintenance and rehearsal calls.
