The Creative Associate will support National Theatre Wales’ (NTW) in commissioning, developing and delivering projects in Cardiff, and will focus on the creative development of Welsh theatre makers across NTWs’ work, alongside developing their own artistic practice.
The varied and exciting role leads initiatives that aim to:
- advance Welsh theatre artists, with a particular focus on developing historically marginalised and excluded artists.
- develop the profile, opportunity and agency for individuals, companies and collaborative partnerships in Wales.
- support the co-creation of our work with communities, as part of NTWs’ TEAM engagement programme.
The Creative Associate will have their own creative practice, rooted in theatre-making. During this fixed-term contract, they will have the opportunity to explore their practice further with support from NTW’s staff and departments. This may be, for example, through self-directed training opportunities or developing a project for production.
In line with our 2023-2027 Strategic Plan’s aims and objectives, the Creative Associate must have an understanding of and/or lived experience of racism, and/or ableism and/or poverty.
This role is supported by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which is being administered by Cardiff Council, and therefore we look to recruit a candidate based in Cardiff, who has an understanding of the communities of Cardiff.
As an inclusive, flexible and future-focused employer, we will consider applicants who require flexible working arrangements. Please get in touch to discuss this.
