If you are a talented content creator with a flair for creative social media, this role offers the chance to grow a career in digital communications within a world-leading government department with lots of exciting opportunities for development.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is the UK’s world-leading body established to make sure competition works in people’s favour and businesses treat their customers fairly.

In a world where markets are rapidly changing the need to communicate what we do has never been greater. As part of Strategy and Communications, the Web and Digital Team uses digital channels to deliver content that explains our work in clear and engaging ways. We focus on user needs and create and manage content across social media and GOV.UK, the internationally respected UK government website.

As Assistant Digital Officer, you will play an important role in delivering CMA’s digital communications plans, managing content on GOV.UK and designing engaging, innovative content for social media. You will also play an active role in reviewing and analysing content, providing insight and identifying opportunities to improve.

Alongside excellent communication skills, we are looking for an individual with a talent for and experience in creating and updating web content, delivering engaging social media communications effectively and evaluating digital communications against key objectives. You will also be required to have an understanding of the importance of accessibility and how content can be made accessible for all.

In return the CMA is a hugely diverse, rewarding and stimulating place to work – an opportunity to work for the public good and to stretch and develop yourself in doing so. We offer generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, our employee assistance programme and flexible working options.

The CMA, like many other organisations, operate a hybrid working model with a mix of office and home working. We believe this supports us to deliver our best work while allowing the flexibility to maintain balanced and healthy lives. Our staff work at least 50% of their time from their office location.

The CMA are an accredited Disability Confident Employer, and we are an equal opportunities employer, welcoming suitably qualified applicants from all backgrounds.

We recruit by merit on the basis of fair and open competition, as outlined in the Civil Service Commission's recruitment principles.
