We asked a select group of organisations to work with us to establish Creative Cardiff. Along with our members, these organisations help us to shape our future plans.

Wales Millennium Centre is a leading creative organisation that plays a significant role in the provision and access to arts and creativity in Wales. One of the UK’s top cultural attractions welcoming over 1.5million visitors and ticket holders a year, and home to eight resident partners, this Welsh landmark stages musicals, opera, ballet, circus and contemporary dance alongside the UK’s largest programme of free performances. Aiming to truly become the ffwrnais awen (“furnace of inspiration”) of its world famous inscription, the Centre is committed to working with people of all ages within its diverse community.
The creative economy is vibrant in Wales with the whole country benefits from its success. The Centre alone generated £78,000,000 for the Welsh economy in the year to April 2015. Cardiff is uniquely positioned to become one of Europe’s leading creative capitals and Creative Cardiff brings together a broad range of city partners with a remit to foster closer links, to share ideas and best practice and to be inspired by the huge opportunities open to us. The Centre is delighted to be a founder member of Creative Cardiff.
BBC Wales is the nation’s broadcaster, providing a wide range of English and Welsh language content on TV, radio and online for audiences across Wales, as well as flagship content for network, including programmes such as Doctor Who and Casualty. It has a turnover of around £150m a year and employs around 1,200 people across Wales.
BBC Wales is a founder member of Creative Cardiff in recognition of the important role the broadcaster plays in the city-region’s creative economy and the important role the creative economy plays in BBC Wales’ success. It sees Creative Cardiff as a way of deepening its links across the creative sector, helping it make new connections and exposing it to new ideas and fresh thinking. It also sees Creative Cardiff as an opportunity to raise awareness of the strength of the city-region’s creative industries, ensuring that creative talent and businesses alike see it as a place in which they can flourish.

The City of Cardiff Council understands the significant value and contribution of the creative industries and wider creative economy to our city and region.
