Boom Cymru is looking to recruit an experienced Vision Engineer to join our studio team, delivering weekly pre-recorded and live children’s programming to S4C.
We are looking for an experienced Broadcast professional. This is not a trainee position.
You will be responsible for maintaining high-quality live and pre-recorded output and have technical expertise in camera racking, operating caption generators and programming vision mixers.
Key Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Aligning, adjusting and maintaining vision equipment, to ensure the accurate line-up of vision monitoring, camera output and other vision facilities
- Racking studio cameras in a Live transmission environment, balancing cameras by waveform.
- Rigging and basic operation of VT and digital recording equipment as necessary.
- Programming/Operation of Vision Mixers including Chroma Keying.
- Operation of lighting consoles including lighting for CSO.
- Ability to trace digital and analogue video and audio signals using a wiring diagram and an understanding of patch bays and electronic routers, talkback and links/comms.
- Rudimentary Avid knowledge would be advantageous as would experience with Pixel Power character generators/graphics packages.
- To meet any additional technical facilities required for the production.
- Front line maintenance of Studio and OB facilities and any liaison with Technical Support as required.
