South Wales-born Katie has recently returned to Cardiff, bringing not only her experience of touring with Kasabian and interviewing The Rolling Stones, but also her passion for supporting new music and Welsh artists. Building on this, Chwarae Teg has been conceived as a chance for new bands and artists from Wales to be showcased in one of the capital’s most beloved independent venues – The Moon.

Wales is brimming with incredible musical talent and as I’ve progressed in my journey to learn the Welsh language, I’ve discovered and connected deeply with Welsh music. Whenever I DJ abroad, I love showcasing and sharing the amazing work of Welsh artists. Starting a new music night right in the heart of Cardiff dedicated to highlighting these talents is truly a dream come true and I couldn’t be more excited! I’m also extremely thankful to Creative Cardiff for getting onboard and helping bring this vision to life!

The first Chwarae Teg takes place at The Moon, Womanby St on 16 October, with tickets costing just £5. We're delighted to be joined by three incredible Welsh artists for our first event in this series:

About Cardiff Music City Festival
Supported by Welsh Government and Cardiff Council, the Cardiff Music City Festival aims to attract 20,000 in its first year. Encompassing renowned new music festival Sŵn and Wales Millennium Centre’s international arts weekend, Llais, the festival will spread music throughout the city, challenging, exciting and inspiring fans across generations and genres.
