Apply to be a Story Associate (akin to position as Post Graduate Research Assistant Knowledge Exchange Fellow and/or Research Fellow)
Hours: 6 months full-time or 12 months part-time.
Contract Type: Fixed-Term. Post Graduate Research Assistant and/or Research Fellow
Closes: Monday 26th June, 12pm
Interview Date: 3rd July - 14th July
We are collaborating with several partner organisations to appoint eleven Story Associates with a passion for crafting, telling, and analysing stories, who can bring a strong mix of creativity, problem solving, and innovative thinking to this AHRC-funded research programme run by The Story Society at Bath Spa University.
You will be based at a University in the UK and at one of the Host organisations, where you will work to find a creative solution to a problem they think Story Skills can solve.
This role offers significant potential to develop your research career and be part of a prestigious AHRC-funded programme.
Most of these opportunities allow for virtual working, but a few have a place-based element. You might want to consider:
Hay Castle: Help bring rural communities together through storytelling, and tackle issues of social isolation.

The StoryArcs Programme
The aim of the StoryArcs Programme is to articulate the value of Story Skills as pivotal transferable skills across a range of sectors and contexts. It will investigate and highlight the contribution of researchers with narrative skills to the UK's economy and within wider cultural, scientific and creative ecosystems.
The pilot run of the StoryArcs Programme will take the form of a trial placement scheme for 11 Early Career Researchers (Story Associates). Each Associate will contribute to StoryArcs as a researcher, and will lead a project in response to a challenge set by a Host Organisation who has come to us for help in finding a talented consultant with Story Skills.
The Host Organisations come from a variety of sectors (from Community Interest to Creative Enterprises). Paying close attention to lessons acquired from the Host placements, the StoryArcs team will produce a prototype ‘Story Skill Set’ to exemplify how different story structures and competencies are used in life, learning, and work.
The StoryArcs team will then evaluate the pilot and develop an improved plan for an expanded scheme to support more Story Hosts and Associates. The scaled StoryArcs programme will enable AHRC to embed evidence about Story Skills into a network of training and placement partners.
