About WMC/Our Department:

WMC is a home for the arts in Wales, and a cauldron of creativity for the nation working with artists, young people and communities.

The Producer: Llais is part of our Arts and Creative Team where we believe in making work that has the power to expand our worlds, spark emotions and fire imaginations.

We work with artists, young people and communities to make productions, festivals and events that entertain, stimulate and inspire audiences with a focus on storytelling and voice.

Llais is Cardiff’s international arts festival bringing artists and audiences together for incredible live music, thought provoking performance and inspirational talks.

Since the festival began in 2016 we've showcased some of the world’s most recognisable voices from across the musical spectrum including:

Patti Smith, Van Morrison, Femi Kuti, Laura Marling, Candi Station, Elvis Costello, Rufus Wainwright, Fatoumata Diawara, Angélique Kidjo, Les Amazons des Afriques, Pussy Riot, Abdullah Ibrahim, D double E, Tricky, Arab Strap, Cate Le Bon, Arlo Parks and many more

“Llais is much more than a music festival; it’s an exploration of what the voice can do and how important it is to have one” Graeme Farrow, Artistic Director

About the Role and Responsibilities:

The Producer: Llais will work with all of our teams across the organisation, delivery partners, artists and our team of programmers to deliver an exciting and distinctive festival that celebrates the voice in all its forms.

Llais was re-established in 2022 and this role will be key in cementing the Festival as an annual event in Cardiff’s cultural calendar. This role is focused on the planning and delivery of the Festival and works closely with the Artistic Director and the Head of Productions.

Key Requirements:

The Producer: Llais leads on the management and delivery of the Festival working with the Artistic Director, our Arts and Creative Team and a team of freelance producers to deliver and shape the programme.

We are looking for someone with experience of delivering large scale events who is able to lead on the management and logistics of a multi-faceted and diverse festival. The successful candidate will also have an understanding of the importance of audience development and experience of working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and participants.
