More about our panellists:
Matt Everitt
Matt was born just outside Birmingham to the sound of Slade's 'Mama Weer All Crazee Now’ which was number one at the time (something he's always thought was rather fortuitous). This, combined with a formative teenage viewing of Queen's ‘Rock In Rio’, soon led to the decision that music was the way forward (as were 12-minute timpani solos).
Following considerable time spent hanging around in Camden in the mid 90s, he ended up drumming with Menswear; a third division Britpop band of no fixed ability, which paid the bills until a chronic lack of songs caught up with them.
After joining London alternative radio station Xfm in 2002, Matt embarked on a career interviewing the most influential musicians around. He developed a series of acclaimed Xfm radio documentaries/podcasts with acts including Muse, Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys and The White Stripes. In 2007, Matt moved to the BBC, presenting BBC 6 Music’s weekly magazine show The Music Week and appearing daily on The Shaun Keaveny Breakfast Show until 2021.
Alongside 12 years reporting the music news every morning, Matt has also produced documentaries for BBC Radio 4 and Radio 2 featuring exclusive interviews with guests including Sir Paul McCartney, Kate Bush, Axl Rose and The Who. He was also one of the last people to interview Prince (who unfortunately refused to allow Matt to record their conversation, but he insists it did really happen. Honest.)
In 2010 Matt devised what would become BBC 6 Music’s flagship interview series, The First Time. Now entering its fifteenth season, it centres on in-depth and revealing interviews with some of the world’s most important artists – including Radiohead, Metallica, Brian Wilson, Yoko Ono, Arcade Fire, Debbie Harry, George Clinton, Michael Stipe, Paul Simon, Janelle Monae, Trent Reznor and Elton John.
He’s also the host of the BBC 6 Music weekly show New Album Fix which focuses on reviewing the best of the week’s new album releases and artist interviews.
Since founding his own independent production company Cup & Nuzzle, Matt has also developed, produced and hosted podcasts for Spotify, Amazon/Audible, Netflix and the Universal, Sony and Warners Music Groups. C&N’s music clients include The David Bowie Estate, Robert Plant, New Order, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Oasis and Jesse Ware’s Table Manners.
In 2018 Matt released two books - ‘Where’s My Welly? The World’s Greatest Festival Challenge’ and ‘The First Time – Stories and Songs From Music Icons’ which brought together 40 interviews from the radio series.

This demonstrates my dedication not only to artistic output but to the burgeoning industry and training that underpins it.
Bethan Miller
I’m Beth and I’m a photographer and owner of Citrus Studio, a photography studio in the heart of Cardiff. I’ve been photographing professionally since 2017 and specialise in music and portraiture work.
I love my job for its capacity to freeze moments in time, and to document life in all of its wild and wonderful forms. There is nothing more magical to me than capturing and telling a story through images. Whether it’s musicians performing on stage, portraits for a brand or documenting the beauty everyday life; I like to bring out the personality of everything that steps in front of my lens, exploring honest yet exciting imagery that lasts.
Bill Cummings
My name is Bill Cummings, growing up an avid fan, I began writing about music in earnest in the early noughties, working for Gair Rhydd, Sound Nation and various Fanzines. In 2003 I founded the Cardiff based webzine God Is In The TV. As editor for nearly two decades I have been keen that we explore the music and culture we are passionate about, championing Welsh and emerging and established artists from throughout the UK regardless of the stage of their career. We have also been a platform for emerging music writers too, regardless of their background, those who have worked for us have gone on to write for the likes of Guardian, NME, The Line of Best Fit and more.
I currently co-host a podcast called Show Me Magic. We have had a range of guests from musicians to music journalists such as The Anchoress, Carwyn Ellis, Mark Beaumont(NME), Anna B Savage, Dom Gourlay (Under the radar) and more plus a monthly new music show on Radio Glamorgan. I also write interviews, and features discussing the current shifts in music.
I have also worked in music PR for over twelve years working with the likes of Horizons in Wales, Forte Project and on campaigns for emerging and Welsh artists like Ani Glass, R.Seiliog, The Orielles, Adwaith and many more. I am now looking into moving into mentoring and artist development.
