Creative Cardiff and Katie Owen are thrilled to announce the second Chwarae Teg, an exciting new event to showcase and celebrate emerging artists from Wales. Join us on 11 December 2024 at The Moon on Womanby St for an evening led by DJ and Presenter Katie Owen and featuring some of the best new musicians from the city and beyond!
We are excited to announce the next line-up of incredible talent:
🎧 Welsh Chicks
A DJ duo from Cardiff, Welsh Chicks consist of BBC Radio Wales presenter Molly Palmer and Heart Drive Time producer Daniel Abrams. United by their love of pop music and radio, they’ve DJ’d across the UK at festivals and club nights, amassing residencies and pledging to offer inclusivity and safe spaces through their sets.
🎤 Wrenna
Emerging Welsh indie dream-pop singer-songwriter, Wrenna, blends the airy vocal stylings of Birdy with Holly Humberstone’s atmospheric production. Through emotionally charged lyrics, she explores themes of loss, young adult struggles, and the pursuit of dreams.
With accolades including the Youth Music Next Gen fund, multiple placements on the BBC Radio Wales Welsh A List, and performances at In It Together Festival and a Cardiff headline show, Wrenna is truly a rising star.
🎵 Nancy Williams
At just 18, Nancy Williams from Merthyr Tydfil has captivated audiences with her poignant songwriting. Discovered by film director Jonny Owen, Nancy teamed up with Irish producer Darren Morrisey, crafting her debut EP—a coming-of-age exploration of her Welsh roots and personal journey. Now based in London, Nancy is proud of her Welsh heritage, which influences her creative work.
Whether you're an aspiring artist or a music enthusiast, join us to celebrate Cardiff’s vibrant music landscape.
