About WMC/Our Department:
Wales millennium Centre is the largest arts centre in Wales, situated in Cardiff Bay it plays host to National and international artists and productions. Much of the success of WMC is due to its delivery of technical services and the use of its world class facilities. We have an opening for a technician, and we are looking for a colleague to join and continue our success.
About the Role and Responsibilities:
-As part of a team of 15 technical staff you will work on the largest touring productions in the UK. Primarily based on the Donald Gordon Stage with its 1900 seat capacity, the role will facilitate the get in, get out, and show running of musicals, opera, Dance & comedy.
-WMC is also home to two other venues, a 250 seat studio theatre and a 120 seat cabaret venue. Occasionally we work on productions and other events taking place in these venues.
-Role Reports to the technical manager (electrics)
-Hours are worked on and average 38.5 hour working week and flexible according to show demand.
Key Requirements:
- Be highly self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to work unsociable hours, including over-night, weekends and Bank Holidays
- Specialise in Stage/Flys as well as being willing to work in other stage departments when required.
