Following on from our Doing Digital, Thinking Digital event at Pinewood in 2016, Creative Cardiff and BAFTA Cymru invite you to Visioning the New Realities; a discussion on the integration of virtual reality into the creative sectors.
We are keen to bring the VR community together and plan to shine a light on all of the interesting and innovative work happening in Cardiff and the city region and assessing what the creative tech cluster looks like in this geographical area.
We are delighted to be welcoming keynote speaker Greg Furber, VR DIrector, REWIND
Before joining REWIND, Greg worked in stop frame animation as an assistant director on Fantastic Mr. Fox and in the story department on Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie. During a long-term position as a senior director at ASB, Greg created international broadcast commercials and animatics for brands including Burger King, Fairy, Coca-Cola, and Kellogg's, and worked on projects that involved motion capture, CGI, flash animation, and live action performances.
Greg now heads up 360° video production at REWIND. Using the latest camera technologies, Greg has delivered pioneering immersive projects for the likes of the BBC, NBC, Formula E and Sony. His recent real-time VR work includes a motion-captured performance of Madam Butterfly for Welsh National Opera and the launch of INFINITI’s latest car.
There will also be the opportunity to hear a series of lightning talks from individuals, agencies and organisations based in Wales engaging in interesting VR projects in their current work.

Visioning the New Realities will take place on Thursday, 16 November from 9am until 1pm at Wales Millennium Centre and is supported by Cardiff Digital Cultures Network.
