The Making of Just Jim, BTS DVD Extra and Promotional Film for Web, May 2014 - April 2015
Director, Editor & Camera Operator /// Vox Pictures

I was responsible for shooting much of the behind the scenes for Craig Robert’s directorial debut Just Jim for its DVD, working under producer Adrian Bate. The BTS was an experience in itself, but I learnt a considerable amount about each department from the interviews I conducted and following the action on set. I took the lead in editing down 36 hours of footage from 3 weeks down to 14 minutes in Final Cut Pro. It was a real lesson in cutting a film down to its essence. I also worked on a colour grade and basic sound mix. It was my first time working with a producer for an extended time to a specific brief covering how the film should be represented.

RTS Breaking into Broadcasting Bootcamp, November 2017

The Breaking into Broadcast course is by the broadcasters involved in RTS, particularly BBC. It’s a well-established course, written and delivered by BBC national training team. During the course I was taught about the BBC’s guidelines for using smartphones in recording, editing and broadcasting footage, as well as some of the inner workings and decision making processes in its News and Current Affairs department in East Anglia.
