Research and Communications Officer for Janet Finch-Saunders AM 

Salary range: £21,035 - £30,836 (pro-rata)

(5 point scale, appointment will only be above point 1 in exceptional circumstances)

Working hours: 22.2 hours (3 days) / week – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Some flexibility may be required

To provide the Member with a high quality research services on a wide range of topics, and to undertake research/press and media related work as required, ensuring that standards of confidentiality are maintained. 

Main duties:

Manage the diary for the Member’s Cardiff office, and prepare papers for meetings, events and Committees as required

Provide high quality research in response to enquiries as directed by the Assembly Member, including briefings and information to assist in dealing with constituency casework or helping to inform debates

Obtain, understand, analyse, present and communicate required information and statistics. This will sometimes require rapid familiarisation with new subject areas

Essential Qualifications 

A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject

NVQ Qualification level 3 or 4 or equivalent in a relevant subject

Essential Knowledge and Experience 

Relevant experience in a research or information environment

Experience of working directly with influential, high profile people in a busy environment

Experience of delivering research or briefing in a parliamentary or similar environment
