Media and Communications Officer (10 month fixed term contract/secondment) Welsh NHS Confederation

Salary: £26,295 – £28,295 dependent on experience

Base: Cardiff, Wales

The Welsh NHS Confederation seeks a skilled, innovative and enthusiastic Media and Communications Officer on a 10 month fixed term contract/secondment.  

The role of Media and Communications Officer covers a wide range of duties supporting the overall activity of the Welsh NHS Confederation, particularly through a strong media and communications programme. Key responsibilities include handling of day-to-day communications with national, regional and local media, social media, website content and publications. Advising on media management, including drafting lines to take, producing press releases and statements, and all other aspects of media relations. The successful applicant will also contribute along with other team members to the Confederation’s overall programme of work, including events, policy and public affairs activity.  

The Welsh NHS Confederation is a membership organisation representing the seven Health Boards and three NHS Trusts in Wales. The Confederation aims to lead the health policy debate and this role will enhance our reputation as the authoritative voice of the NHS in Wales, and as an organisation for innovative and challenging thinking.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
