Our careers are as varied as the places we care for and that’s why we look for people from all backgrounds, with a variety of skills and abilities to help us maintain our places ‘forever for everyone’. As Marketing & Communications Officer at Dyffryn Gardens, you will be responsible for marketing this special place imaginatively and effectively.

You'll be responsible for co-ordinating the effective marketing of the visitor offer across our property. Working closely with key property leads and the consultancy, you'll help to promote our special places, activities and conservation work to encourage support for the Trust, through visits, donations, volunteering and commercial activity. You'll be responsible for on-site marketing material, property web-pages and social media accounts (where appropriate), including the creation of new content and management of existing information.

What it's like to work here

This magnificent Victorian mansion and gardens are situated in the rural Vale of Glamorgan. The sweeping 55-acre estate features a stunning array of garden rooms and a vast collection of plants. A major restoration project at Dyffryn House has created lots of opportunities within the large gardening operation and visitor experience. If you are creative, ambitious and have a great eye for detail, the dedicated 45-member team would love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

Day to day, you’ll manage our annual marketing plan to help achieve our ambitious visitor targets, helping us to reach out to new audiences. This will include defining advertising activities and creating promotional materials and updates (across all media platforms, including social media), writing and distributing press releases and representing us on location filming and broadcast media when you need to.

You will deliver the Marketing and Communications plan for Ightam Mote to help us achieve our business objectives and connect people with the work of the Trust as a conservation charity. You will work with the marketing consultancy to promote and maximise coverage of the property's programming and wider offer. You will use all marketing channels, from print to digital, to increase awareness of Ightam Mote and drive visits to the property.

We're looking for someone who can help us get larger audiences for our events and our digital content. Spreading the word about places to visit in the great outdoors, and raising awareness of our conservation work is key to what we're about. Two of the main ways we do that are by putting on events, activities and programming by creating imaginative, inspiring content for our web pages and social media channels.
