We are looking for a temporary Head of Creative/Creative Manager to lead and manage our off-site retail print design teams. The role requires a confident person with senior design and management experience who is able to combine strategy, creativity and retail knowledge to ensure delivery of engaging retail marketing campaigns, in store environments and experiences across multiple clients.

It goes without saying that you’ll be an experienced creative manager with a natural design flair, who is able to lead and inspire a vibrant creative team. You will be working closely with the designers who are all in client facing offices, based in different locations, so you will be happy to travel flexibly around the UK within the role as required.

This is a fast-paced reactive role which requires a proactive and confident individual who can demonstrate the ability to work with senior business leaders to ensure development and implementation of their creative and marketing strategies. You’ll be an excellent communicator who is able to deliver clear design direction. It’s important you can demonstrate a passion for design within the fashion and retail sector, and you’ll have a strong portfolio showing your skill base that you will present at interview.

This role will require you to…

  • Empower, lead and support the off-site design teams to produce engaging marketing concepts from initial concept to production. This would include window displays, instore POS, lookbooks, promotional and event literature, magazine advertisements, internal documents and local marketing.
  • Take and develop complex briefs, turning them into clear plans of action. For this you’ll need to be an organised communicator who is able to easily deliver direction across the design team.
  • Quickly develop excellent client and internal working relationships at all levels including at senior and board level.
  • Attend client meetings and present research and concepts in design critiques and client meetings.
  • Work remotely in multiple office locations, as well as from home. Regular travel will be required flexibly across the UK as dictated by client activity. Expenses would be covered.
  • Deliver fashion and retail trends back to the teams and clients to ensure all creative is current, exciting and maintains customer engagement.

Skills you will have…

  • A degree in Graphic Design/similar and/or equivalent hands on experience at a senior design level.
  • Experience managing creatives and design processes.
  • An excellent knowledge of design and artworking for print, with the ability to advise the team and step in and help out where required at busy periods.
  • Experience of marketing design is desirable along with an understanding of retail space and customer journeys.
  • Collaborative skills to work closely with the retail client and to lead and develop the design team.
  • A natural eye for typography, colour, layout, photography and branding.
  • An ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritise workload under pressure for others and yourself.
  • Print process/production knowledge is desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and all office applications.
  • Mac user.

We would like this role to commence from July/August to allow a crossover period of around 2-3 months. It is ideally a full-time role, and a fixed employment time period and salary DOE would be discussed and finalised with the successful candidate.
