g39 is a thriving artist-led organisation based in Cardiff, which is soon to celebrate its twentieth anniversary. Regularly funded by the Arts Council of Wales, and a participant in the recent NESTA Digital Innovation programme, the gallery is seeking new trustees to join its board.

g39 is committed to the presentation and production of contemporary art. Part gallery, part community and part resource, it is a welcoming space for audiences to experience contemporary art from Wales and further afield. The exhibitions and training programmes are the two main areas of g39’s activity. Both these strands rely on several key things – a space in which to deliver the activity, support for the artists that generate the activity, a sustained engagement with the audience and the community it serves, as well as a network of committed staff, volunteers and trustees

We are looking for new trustees who are interested in our work and could bring new skills and knowledge to the organisation, in particular any of the following: fundraising, business development, financial, legal and HR.

The board plays a key role in the strategy and output of g39, and trustees have behind-the-scenes access to artistic practice and direct contact with a wide community of professional artists. The board meets quarterly with a small and dedicated staff team.
