Working to the Stakeholder Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the Companies House press office. 

You will be the main point of contact for journalists, and will devise and implement proactive media handling strategies. You will work with others in the communications team and policy and operations colleagues to provide a swift, accurate service to journalists. 

You will work with the Stakeholder Manager and Head of Communications to create and implement a reputation management strategy. You will use analytical and horizon-scanning skills to create timely reports for the Executive Board, highlighting potential opportunities or risks. 

Working alongside the web content designers, and social media lead, you will create engaging and high-quality content for Companies House digital channels including our website, blog, and newsletter. 

Key skills required 
• Experience of news handling gained in media relations, PR, journalism or a similar communications role 
• Excellent communications skills both written and verbal 
• Interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships with internal colleagues and other government press offices 
• Analytical skills to evaluate impact of media activity 
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to tight press deadlines and manage competing priorities 
• Ability to work on own initiative and quickly grasp complex issues 

Please note Companies House press office operates during standard business hours. No out of hours working is required for this role.
