Location: Cardiff (Assembly Square, CF10 4PL)

Salary: £17,063 pa

Duration: 13 months including End point Assessment (This is a full time role from Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours per week)

ITV Cymru Wales plays a vital role in Welsh life. It is the most popular commercial TV channel in Wales; a national television and digital news service; a centre of excellence for current affairs - in English and in Welsh and a commercially successful producer of network programming.

At its heart is a talented team of 100 journalists, programme makers,  production specialists and apprentices working from a HD digital broadcast centre in Cardiff Bay.

We are now looking for two Creative and Digital Media apprentices to join the team:

One to work mainly with the news team -  filming and editing news content for broadcast and for social media. They will experience current production techniques with a particular emphasis on using the very latest technologies.

And one to work mainly with the programmes team - editing and filming content for longer form current affairs and factual programming in Welsh and English. They will also support the ingest and management of content.

Our Creative and Digital Media apprentices will learn  from industry professionals to provide support to the news and programmes teams in Wales. They mostly work full time from Monday to Friday, although there might be times when we’ll ask you to work out of hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generating ideas for news and current affairs content for broadcast and online
  • Filming content (support and training will be provided)
  • Editing content ( support and training will be offered)
  • Ingesting and organising  media

Due to the nature of this apprenticeship, it would suit school/college leavers from 16 years of age; you are only eligible to apply if:

  • You have lived within the UK/EEA for a minimum of 3 years consecutively
  • You have at least a Level 1 qualification in Maths and English (GCSE or equivalent, grade D or above)
  • You have not completed, or part completed, a degree or other Level 4 qualification
  • You do not already hold a Level 3 qualification in the same subject
  • Must reside in Wales
